The Best Ways to Match a Pink Prom Dress

A few things need to be taken into considerations when it comes to dressing for prom. From makeup, hairstyle, to the accessories, nailing the right combinations just take the a few style tips and a little attention to detail.

Hair&Makeup
A clip-in hair strand or braid of pink hair can be worn to give you a fun streak of color if you prefer a trendy vibe, while rhinestone, pearl or silver hair clips can add sparkle and a romantic finish.
The right lip color with a pink dress is a soft pink or nude that lets your natural coloring shine. If the color isn't a sheer glossy tone, go for a closely matching pink. Base should be fresh and natural with a soft tint of blush and more defined eyes.

Accessories
The type of prom dress you wear may call for different types of shoes.
A short flouncy dress may call for platforms in a nude tone or gray and white pumps. A silver sandal will look the most dressed up with a long pink gown. With soft romantic dresses, a good contrast is needed with something like a leather high-heeled pewter pump. Carry a small satin or beaded clutch purse that picks up on the shoe color. Pink offers a wide range of accessory options, but a safe bet is silver necklaces, rings, bracelets and earrings. For an elegant look, limit yourself to two or three pieces, such as earrings and a bracelet or a ring, necklace and small earrings. For an edgier look, mix metals in three or more colors such as rose-gold, silver and pewter.

Match Your Date
A silver-toned gray is an ideal match with a pink dress. Other options for your date include a classic black tuxedo for the most formal look or a dark charcoal color accented with a silver or black tie. Shirt colors in white and light gray are the best complements to your pink dress, as they provide just the right amount of contrast.
